Stripe Integration

Brightenly uses Stripe to process invoice payments. Connecting your Stripe account lets you accept card and bank transfer payments from clients.

Connecting Stripe

  1. Complete Step 3 of the onboarding, or go to Settings → Account Settings → Stripe
  2. Click Connect with Stripe
  3. You'll be redirected to Stripe to create or link an existing Stripe account
  4. Complete Stripe's identity verification if prompted

Once connected, the Stripe section shows Connected and your payout account details.

What Stripe handles

  • Processing card and bank transfer payments from your clients
  • Storing payment method details securely (Brightenly never stores card data)
  • Paying out received funds to your bank account on Stripe's payout schedule
  • Generating and managing invoice records on the Stripe side

Stripe account requirements

To accept payments, your Stripe account must be fully verified. Stripe may ask for:

  • Business or personal identity information
  • Bank account details for payouts
  • Business address and tax information

You can check your Stripe account's verification status from your Stripe dashboard.

Viewing payment history

Payment history and payout details are available directly in your Stripe dashboard. Brightenly shows invoice status (paid/unpaid/overdue) synced from Stripe, but detailed payout reporting is in Stripe.
