Contract Signing Issues

Signer didn't receive the signing email

Check the following:

  1. The signer's email address is correct on the contract
  2. Ask the signer to check their spam or junk folder
  3. Open the contract in Brightenly and click Send Reminder to resend the signing invitation

Signer is having trouble signing

The signing page works in all modern browsers without any plugin or account required. If a signer is having trouble:

  • Ask them to try a different browser (Chrome or Safari recommended)
  • Confirm they're using the link from the most recent signing email (old links may expire if a reminder was sent)

I need to change the contract after sending

If the contract content needs to change after it has been sent:

  1. Open the contract and click Cancel to void the current signing request
  2. Edit the contract content
  3. Click Send for Signature again

All signers will receive a new signing invitation.

The contract status is stuck on "Sent"

A contract stays in Sent status until all signers have signed. Check the contract's signer list to see who is still pending. Use Send Reminder to nudge any outstanding signers.

A signed contract is not showing as Signed

Brightenly updates contract status automatically when all parties have signed. If there's a delay, refresh the page. If the status doesn't update after 10 minutes, contact support.
